Our production fins are available with GEARBOX or FUTURES bases. FUTURES bases are offered in the DEEP and SHALLOW styles for select templates. DUAL TAB bases are available on request as a standard GEARBOX base can easily be converted to this style. However, we do not stock DUAL TAB bases. Custom fins are available in any base style.
What custom templates are available?
Any of our production templates are available as custom fins. Additionally, we offer some pre-production designs as custom fins. To see the full range of available custom fins, go to our dedicated custom fin site - MAIRFOILS.
How are your production fins manufactured?
Our production fins are made from solid fiberglass panels using CNC machining technology. This technique allows us to reproduce our designs accurately, as they are copies of our handmade fins.
What cant angles are available for FUTURES fins?
FUTURES Deep bases are available with 6º of cant, and FUTURES Shallow bases are available with 4º of cant. All FUTURES bases are machined on a CNC machine for accuracy.
Do any of your fins have flat inside foils?
We do not make fins with flat inside foils. Instead, all our fins have HOLOFOILS on the inside faces, offering improved performance and versatility.
What thickness are your production fins?
Our production fins are made from 3/8" thick panels, allowing us to create much more efficient foils with enhanced performance. However, a few of our older designs, primarily the Q2 series, are still manufactured from 1/4" thick panels.
What colors are available for custom fins?
Our standard colors for custom fins are WHITE, BLACK, SMOKE, RED, AMBER, MANGO, and CLEAR.
What is the delivery timeframe for custom fins?
Custom fins take 4 - 8 weeks to produce, depending on the number of book orders. Most of the time, it takes less time, but we prefer to be conservative in our time estimates.
What is the normal shipping method for fins?
Our primary shipping partner is USPS Priority Mail. We utilize a flat-rate padded envelope, which is inexpensive and fast in the USA. These envelopes can hold up to three sets of fins. Other shipping options are available on request.
What type of finish is applied to the fins?
Both the production and custom fins feature a natural oil-based finish. We do not spray a finish on any of our fins. This allows the foils to remain as accurate as possible.
Do the fins come in bags?
All fins are shipped in cloth bags that accommodate up to 5 fins and a key. Center fins sold separately are not in bags.

We provide a wide range of guides covering the most common types of fin placements. These guides are available as downloadable PDF files.
