Specialty Range

Specialized fins for specific board types

This category of fin designs contains all of the templates we consider high-performance for next-level surfing.

All the templates in this category are CNC-machined from solid fiberglass and come in a CLOVER tint only, except for the BLACK center fins.

The supported fin bases are GEARBOX, DUAL TAB (available on request), and FUTURES.

NRG Series

The NRG series is a revival of an older design series that has been modernized. They make great twin fins.

The NRG series is an eight-year-old design that we decided to resurrect as it has great potential as a twin fin.

The overall shape features a deep cutaway to keep the fin maneuverable and a large blade for lots of drive. The new versions have had the foils enhanced for improved performance.

The size range has also been increased to cover a much broader range of functionality. The two largest fins in this series are incredible twin fins. Their design uses a base-back focus, which means the center of the area of the fin moves back as the size increases. This means these fins can be ridden further forward on the board for improved turning performance.

The smallest fin in the range is intended to be used as a canard or trailing center fin when coupled with the larger twin fin sizes.

Interestingly, regardless of the size of the fins, all of the bases are the same length—2 7/8" [73 mm].

These fins do not feature much flex, as they are intended to be highly responsive; what little flex they have is more torsional than vertical.

We are really excited to have these fins return to our range.

Initially, we will only have the NRG-500, NRG-525, and NRG-550 available as production fins. The NRG-450 will follow later in the year. We already have the NRG-350 in our range.

K9/PWR Quad

COMING THIS SUMMER!

K9/PWR Series

The K9/PWR series is a new design series. These are only available as a quad set as the fins are matched.

It starts with the K9-450K, our KAHI cutaway keel fin. This fin provides a great combination of drive, maneuverability, and speed. The most prominent feature is the extreme cutaway. We call this cutaway style a KAHI. The cutaway keeps the base of the fin very narrow, allowing the board to turn quickly. While the rake and blade still provide plenty of power and projection. This fin serves as the engine for the combo.

It is paired up with the PWR-400 as the back fin. This fin serves a very distinct role. Due to the shape of the fin, the primary purpose is to add extra drive and speed later in a turn. This fin is commonly set up with slightly overlapping inside the front fin. The shape of the fin concentrates the area down low, where it can add extra tracking and drive to a turn. Thereby complementing the front fin.

Both of these fins feature HOLOFOILS that improve their efficiency.

These fins are ideally suited to fish-style boards with a twin-keel setup. They have also proven excellent for kneeboard fish-style boards.

WS2 Series

The WS2 series is a second-generation version of our split keel design. It has undergone minor tweaks to be included in our CNC range.

This series comprises only two designs - a front fin WS2-400FT and a back fin WS2-475. The front fin features our new FLIPTWO tip design for better performance and transition speed. In addition, both fins feature extensive hollow foils on the inside faces, again geared towards improved performance.

These fins can be used on many boards but are incredibly well-suited to fish-style boards. When placed correctly, they can provide an enhanced twin fin feel without the twitchiness of the typical twin fin.

The split keel design depends on the fins being placed as close together as possible for the best performance. By this, we mean the fore-n-aft placement. In addition, because the fins are essentially keel fins that have been split into two separate fins, their functionality depends on a tight cluster.

However, this setup can still work well in fin setups that are more spread out; they are just not as optimal as a tight cluster. These two templates can also be used separately, although the design was intended to be used as a quad setup.

We do not currently sell them separately; they are always sold as a quad set.

H8 Series

The current generation of the Hammer fin design. This is the 8th generation version of this design, which continues to evolve as one of the best choices for an excellent rear fin in a quad setup or as a side bite in a 2PLUS1 setup.

These fins have effortless turning abilities while providing lots of drive and hold for such a small fin. This latest version has less area than the previous iteration to better balance performance. The throat has a shape that is better at generating lift to help with performance. While the upper blade is now more fully foiled and carries the foil vertically across the entire blade.

They can be combined with most of our large quad front fins to add a whole new dimension to a quad setup. They are also popular as side bites in 2PLUS1 configurations.

Due to the shape and rake of the upper blade, these fins provide a lot of drive out of turn, as the edge will engage late into the turn. The Hammer design has been part of our range and continues to evolve. This is the production version. We feel this version has improved the design to its current state, where it is well-balanced in capabilities and can be utilized in various conditions.

CNRD Series

This is our latest canard design that was created to complement the new BW series.

These are unique designs that all feature our BLENDED-WING tech. This feature allows a canard with more cant in the tip without needing to be added to the base, allowing the fin to be loose and responsive.

They are offered with all of our standard bases. For a DUAL TAB base, only a single tab is used.

All of these fins feature our HOLOFOILS on the inside faces for improved performance.

Initially, only the CNRD-350 will be available in the production fins, but we will be adding more sizes later in the year.

While these fins have been classified as specialty fins, they will be WHITE in color and not CLOVER.
